Overview

What are cellular shades?

Cellular shades — also called honeycomb shades — are made of pleated fabric formed into air pockets. Those pockets trap air and add an insulating layer at the glass.

In Alberta's cold winters and hot summers, that extra layer can make rooms feel noticeably more comfortable.

Cellular Shades FAQs

Do cellular shades really save energy?

They add an insulating air layer at the window, which reduces heat loss and gain compared with a bare window.

What is top-down / bottom-up?

The shade can be lowered from the top, letting daylight in while keeping the lower part of the window covered for privacy.
